As a photographer, there are days when everything aligns perfectly – the weather, the location, and most importantly, the subject. This spring, I had the privilege of experiencing one of those rare, magical days during Virginia’s senior photo shoot.
The journey began as Virginia and her mom made the trip from Raleigh to Wrightsville Beach. As a fellow Saint Mary’s girl, I felt an instant connection with Virginia, and I couldn’t wait to photograph her.
The day kicked off with Virginia getting her hair and makeup done at Harbour Day Spa, where the talented team worked their magic, enhancing Virginia’s natural beauty. From the moment she stepped in front of the camera, it was evident that Virginia possessed not just outer beauty, but also an inner grace and confidence that shone through in every pose and image.
Our first stop was a stunning garden, a picturesque backdrop that perfectly complemented Virginia’s radiance. As I clicked away, I couldn’t help but marvel at how at ease she was in front of the camera. There was no hint of nervousness – just pure confidence and poise.
Next, we ventured to one of my favorite beach trails, where the overcast sky provided the ideal lighting for her shoot. Against the backdrop of sand and coastal vegetation, Virginia was a vision of pure beauty! But the pièce de résistance came as we arrived at Wrightsville Beach. Draped in a breathtaking dress that seemed to blend seamlessly with the dunes and the water, Virginia exuded a timeless elegance that was truly amazing. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the scene, I knew we had captured something truly magical.
Virginia, CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance to Wofford! With your grace, beauty, smarts, and kindness, you’re destined to achieve great things. It was an honor to capture this moment in time, and I wish you all the success and happiness in the world. XOXO
